Fith reference to your letter No.F.5868/37/10
of the 27th October, regarding the Hong Kong - China
Trade and Customs Agreement, I am directed by Lord
Passfield to request you to inform the Secretury of
State for Foreign Affairs that after semi official
discussion and in view of Sir Miles Lampson's telegram
No.658 of the 24th October and the Governor's telegram
No.142 (a copy of which, with a copy of Lord Passfield's
reply is enclosed), it has been decided to take no
further action until the arrival of the agreed draft
from Hong Kong.
2. A copy of this letter is being sent to the
Board of Trade.
